Whatever it is that stirs your soul, listen to that. Everything else is just noise.

What the eff even are archetypes?!

Archetypes were first introduced by famous psychologist Carl Jung way back in the 1940’s.

If you wanna’ know more about the Jung’s theory, you can read my post over here, or you could just Google it. There are about a gajillion and one articles out there that talk about them.

So instead of trying to summarize his life’s work, this page is my version of how you can apply these babies to your business + life.

Online Entrepreneurs

Lover’s often get stereotyped into being these over-sexualized, over-indulgent, over-everything people. And sometimes they are (I mean, stereotypes come from somewhere, right?), but in branding, this can be a very good thing. Ever heard that sex sells…? It does.

But it isn’t always sexual. Sometimes it’s about food. I’m kidding. But really, it’s about more than sex and food. The Lover Brand Archetype celebrates this high level of passion. They want deep connections with people. They want to create passion, pleasure, love, and desire.

Danielle LaPorte // Speaker + Course Creator

Just like it says in her Insta bio, Danielle is an “opinionated introvert often mistaken for an extrovert” and she write about stuff she finds in the cosmos… mostly love. Which makes her the absolute PERFECT freakin’ fit for the Lover archetype, right?!

She’s living proof that sticking to what lights up your soul is the only way to live – she’s a member of Oprah’s Super Soul 100!

She also has an amaze-balls book called The Desire Map that has been translated into ten languages, a day planner system, an online course.

Fictional Characters

Did you know that the archetypes all have a “shadow side” too? That’s why I’m showin’ ya the GOOD and the BAD side, so make sure to hover over the imagesto learn how each character fits the Lover Archetype.

THE GOOD Side

Jasmine

Jasmine just wants some passion in her life. She doesn’t want to be a “prize” for any old suitor that walks in off the street; she wants true love (doesn’t everyone?!). Luckily she gets her prince and a bonus monkey. What a deal.

THE BAD Side

Cruella De Vil

Cruella might be the worst villain in the history of villains. Who could hurt sweet little puppies?! And all because she wants to look fancy in her fur coats. Barf.

THE GOOD Side

The Wasp

Wasp works with Ant-Man to fight bad guys in the Marvel world. She also designs costumes for the heroes, making her a bit of a Lover! P.S. I love Paul Rudd.

THE BAD Side

Killgrave

Gah, he’s such a cool bad guy! He controls people through pheromones. Weird, right? He’s in love with Jessica Jones, but she doesn’t love him back so he just decides to make her love him. Ew.

THE GOOD Side

Ron Weasley

Ron is a great friend and partner to Harry. He’s enthusiastic and passionate. (See they aren’t all about sex.) (But there is probably some Harry/Ron fan-fiction out there somewhere.)

THE BAD Side

Professor Quirrell

Professor Quirrell gets so caught up in passion for his cause and trying to please Voldemort that he loses his own identity. And the back of his head. And his life.

THE GOOD Side

Shae

Even though Shae used to be a prostitute, she really did love Tyrion. But her passions got the better of her when she thought Tyrion betrayed her and she decided to tell a few lies. Then he had to kill her. Boo.

THE BAD Side

Cersei Lannister

Say what you will about Cersei, but man, lady’s got some passion. She loved her kids fiercely. Unfortunately, she also loved her brother… fiercely… gross.

My favorite part… Music!

My favorite part… Music!

Rock n roll, baby

Dirty Diana // Shaman’s Harvest

I know this is a cover, but I like this one better. MJ is a little too much of a Lover, ya know? But this version rocks. And Diana is so dang dirrrrty that I had to put it on this page.

Country

Ol’ Red // Blake Shelton

Sometimes you’re a passionate Lover, catch your wife cheating, get sent to prison, get the prison Bloodhound to fall in love with a Bluetick Hound, then escape from prison. “Love got me in here, and love got me out.”

Pop

The Edge Of Glory // Lady Gaga

A lot of Lady Gaga’s songs would fit, but I especially love this one. She wrote it in 10 minutes on the night her grandpa died. She said, “He won at love with Grandma, and he’s on the edge of a glorious moment.”

My favorite Lover song

Song #3 // Stone Sour

If you don’t know me yet, you should know I’m a bit of a music snob. And I’m really proud of it.

Sure, I can appreciate the occasional pop-y song for fun, but my heart lies with the true musicians who write and play their own music.

So it’s only fitting that this is my favorite song for the Lover Brand Archetype.

I absolutely love this song. And every other song from Stone Sour. And Slipknot. Actually, I’m just in love with Corey Taylor. #cmft
