Your value doesn’t decrease based on someone else’s inability to see your worth

What the eff even are archetypes?!

Archetypes were first introduced by famous psychologist Carl Jung way back in the 1940’s.

If you wanna’ know more about the Jung’s theory, you can read my post over here, or you could just Google it. There are about a gajillion and one articles out there that talk about them.

So instead of trying to summarize his life’s work, this page is my version of how you can apply these babies to your business + life.

Let’s dive the heck in.

Online Entrepreneurs

I feel like the Innocent Brand Archetype gets a bit of a bad rap sometimes. People think they’re all snuggles and rainbows and rose-colored-glasses all the time, but that’s not the case at all.

Innocent entrepreneurs value simplicity and happiness above all else. They want to be surrounded by things that make them happy and they want to create things that make others happy. And there ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, y’all.

Mayi Carles // Heartmade Blog

Mayi is “tiny Panamanian artist with a T-Rex heart.” She’s a blogger, artist, mom, course creator, and actual-physical-product creator who teaches you how to do whatever you want in your business without ever getting out of your pajamas.

My favorite line on her website: “When someone is mean, I get this sudden urge to release glitter into the sky above their head + watch it shower over them like a baptism of kindness.”

I dare you to look at her site and not smile. It’s not possible.

Fictional Characters

Did you know that the archetypes all have a “shadow side” too? That’s why I’m showin’ ya the GOOD and the BAD side, so make sure to hover over the imagesto learn how each character fits the Innocent Archetype.

THE GOOD Side

Snow White

She’s definitely the most pure, sweet, innocent Disney princess. I mean, she lived with 7 dudes and nothin’ happened. She might be just a little bit too innocent for my tastes, though.

THE BAD Side

Alpha Dog

He tries to be a big, tough guy. But he’s just doing what he’s told. I honestly don’t believe it’s possible for a dog to be bad anyway, they just react on instinct. They’re all just sweet babies that want love.

THE GOOD Side

Captain America

He’s my absolute favorite Marvel superhero. He’s humble, he’s optimistic, he always tries to do the right thing, and he looks pretty dang good in his tights – all the best qualities in a hero.

THE BAD Side

Winter Soldier

Bucky is another example of how the Innocent can be easily corrupted. He was Steve’s best friend, but then he forgot who he was and was convinced to be a bad guy?! Poor Steve was so confused at first.

THE GOOD Side

Ginny Weasley

Ginny is a perfect example of the Innocent Brand Archetype! She’s an optimistic dreamer that loves Harry (and gets him!). She may be a little too trusting (really? you listened to a book?), but she came out on top.

THE BAD Side

Draco Malfoy

He’s definitely not a good guy… but he was corrupted at an early age by his evil family. That’s not entirely his fault, right? He was scared of them so he just did what they wanted him to do!

THE GOOD Side

Sansa Stark

Sansa started out the series as the ultimate doe-eyed Innocent. She was naive to a fault, which is probably the best way to get murdered in Westeros. Luckily, she outgrew most of her naiveté in her time with Ramsay.

THE BAD Side

Tommen Baratheon

Tommen is just another victim of his fear of being punished. He does what his mommy tells him, he does what his sister-wife tells him, he does what his grandfather tells him, then he jumps out the window. The end.

My favorite part… Music!

My favorite part… Music!

Rock n roll, baby

Sweet Freedom // Apollo Under Fire

It’s all about just “being free to be.” That’s the ultimate goal of the Innocent Archetype – to live simply, be happy, and to be free to be their true selves.

Country

Another Day in Paradise // Phil Vassar

This song is so sweet, right? It’s so happy and optimistic. He doesn’t care about all the trouble or bad luck, he’s just grateful for his life – his paradise.

Pop

Shake it Off // Taylor Swift

While I’m not usually a pop fan, I actually love this song. The message is such a great example of the Innocent Archetype, too – just keep doing what you’re doing and be yourself.

My favorite Innocent song

My Champion // Alter Bridge

If you don’t know me yet, you should know I’m a bit of a music snob. And I’m really proud of it.

Sure, I can appreciate the occasional pop-y song for fun, but my heart lies with the true musicians who write and play their own music.

So it’s only fitting that this is my favorite song for the Innocent Brand Archetype.

Alter Bridge is one of absolute favorite bands ever.
I think I might actually be in love with Myles Kennedy.

Maybe it has something to do with my love for Chris Pratt? Who knows. EVERYTHING IS AWESOOOMMMEEEE!!!!!!
